Full Biography
Samira Maas stars as Joy, an 18-year-old woman searching for her biological mother after being given up at birth. Raised in foster homes, Joy lives on the fringes of society, playing accordion in subway stations and shoplifting to make ends meet. Her determination is fueled by her belief that she was born from a loving relationship. She befriends Denise, who becomes pregnant on purpose, and dates Momo, a second-generation immigrant. While investigating an old address, Joy becomes convinced she has found her mother but discovers otherwise, leading to profound shock.
