Elizabeth Teissier, born Germaine Elizabeth Hanselmann on January 6, 1938, is a French astrologer and former actress. Born to Swiss-French parents, she gained a Master's in Modern Literature in 1963 and acted in films between 1965 and 1975, including roles in 'Castle Keep' (1969) directed by Sydney Pollack. She became an astrology student in 1968, later publishing books and hosting TV shows on the subject. Teissier gained prominence as President François Mitterrand's personal astrologer from 1989 until his death in 1996. Her work has been controversial due to her doctorate in sociology for a thesis supporting astrology, which was criticized by the scientific community.
