Natalia Vodianova, born Natalia Mikhailovna vodianova in Gorky, Russia (now Nizhny Novgorod) on February 28, 1982, was a notable figure who gained prominence as a model and actress. She was discovered by a talent scout while she was working at a market stand in her hometown of Nizhny Novgorod. Vodianova moved to Paris at the age of 17 and began her modeling career there.

In Geneva during the 1930s, Solal, a high-ranking Jewish official at the League of Nations, and Ariane, a young married aristocrat from a Protestant family, meet at a party. Despite their different worlds, they are drawn to each other and engage in a passionate love affair.
