Zana Marjanovic, a Bosnian actress, starred as Ajla in 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' (2011). During the Bosnian War, her character was taken captive and brought to a Serbian barrack where she rekindled a relationship with Danijel, her former lover who was now a commander. The film explores their complex dynamic amidst the war.
