Vollständige Biografie
Born on January 3, 1995, in Bucheon, South Korea, Kim Seol-hyun—known mononymously as Seolhyun—has successfully navigated the challenging transition from a global K-pop idol to one of South Korea’s most respected leading actresses. She first rose to international prominence in 2012 as a founding member of the girl group AOA (Ace of Angels), where her striking visuals and charismatic stage presence quickly established her as a cultural icon and a "CF Queen" (Commercial Film Queen) in the advertising world.
While her musical career brought her fame, Seolhyun’s true ambition lay in acting. She made her television debut in the 2012 drama My Daughter Seo-young, but it was her breakthrough role in the 2015 noir action film Gangnam 1970 that redefined her career. Starring alongside Lee Min-ho, she portrayed the innocent and vulnerable Kang Seon-hye, a performance that earned her the Popularity Award at the 36th Blue Dragon Film Awards and established her as a serious cinematic talent.
Over the past decade, Seolhyun has carefully curated a diverse filmography that showcases her range. She has tackled various genres, from historical epics like The Great Battle (2018) to the psychological thriller Memoir of a Murderer (2017). On the small screen, she received praise for her lead roles in the historical drama My Country: The New Age (2019) and the quirky mystery The Killer's Shopping List (2022). In 2022, she further demonstrated her depth by winning the Best Actress award at the LA Webfest for her nuanced performance in the slice-of-life healing drama Summer Strike.
