Rachel Roberts (September 20, 1927 - November 26, 1980) was a Welsh actress known for her intense performances. She is remembered for playing older mistresses in two key British films of the 1960s: 'Saturday Night and Sunday Morning' and 'This Sporting Life'. Roberts also gained recognition internationally for her role in Peter Weir's Australian film, 'Picnic at Hanging Rock'.
