Olimpia Melinte, born November 7, 1986, in Iași, Romania, aspired to be an actress from a young age. Supported by her parents, she studied acting at both high school and college level, graduating with a master's degree in Dramatic Arts from the 'George Enescu' Arts University in Iași. Melinte has performed on the stage of the National Theatre in Iași and aims to return for a significant Romanian production helmed by a young director. Her breakthrough came with her debut film role in 'Cele ce plutesc', earning two Gopo Awards nominations. She gained further recognition with her role in 'Sette opere di misericordia', which received critical acclaim at various film festivals and brought her an acting award at the Bobbio Film Festival. Melinte has worked with several Romanian directors, including Luiza Parvu and Florin Piersic Jr., and starred alongside Antonio de la Torre in the well-received 2013 film 'Caníbal', directed by Manuel Martín Cuenca.
