Max Roth, known professionally as Morgan Taylor Campbell, harbored aspirations to be a screenwriter but pursued talent agenting instead, residing in Los Angeles. Upon his aunt May Sugar's death, Max inherited her peach orchard in Peachland, British Columbia, planning to prepare it for sale while continuing his city work via technology. However, his plans faced resistance from Olivia Cunningham, who protested any development of the property away from agricultural use. Their interaction may have given Max a new perspective on life.
