Full Biography

Mirtel Pohla, born on January 28, 1982 in Tartu, Estonia, is an accomplished Estonian actress with a career spanning theater and film. She attended Tartu Karlova Gümnaasium and graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2004. Pohla has worked extensively in Estonian theater, notably at the Estonian Drama Theatre (2004-2006) and Theatre NO99 (2006-2014), where she won a Best Supporting Actress prize in 2012. She has also performed at Vanemuine theatre in Tartu and other Estonian theaters. On screen, Pohla's notable roles include Berit in the TV3 soap opera 'Kodu keset linna' (2003-2004, 2007-2009), Ilge in the historical comedy 'Malev' (2005), and Jaana in the drama 'Sügisball' (2007). In 2016, she starred as Karina in Lauri Lagle's debut feature film 'Portugal', released in 2018. Pohla also played Maret Roo-Kallaste in the Estonian television mini-series 'Tuulepealne maa' (2008-2013) and Marleen in the comedy film 'Jahihooaeg' (2021).
