Kristy McNichol, born Christina Ann McNichol on September 11, 1962, is an American actress best known for her roles as Leticia ‘Buddy’ Lawrence in the TV drama series Family and Barbara Weston in the sitcom Empty Nest. She retired from acting after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1992.
