Jeramie Rain, born Susan Davis on August 23, 1948, began her career acting in local stage productions in Charleston before moving to New York City in the early 1970s. She made her film debut in 'The Abductors' (1972), but gained prominence for her roles as Sadie in Wes Craven's 'The Last House on the Left' (1972) and Willie Mae in 'Preacherman Meets Widderwoman' (1973). Rain also had a supporting role in the soap opera 'The Doctors' (1972-77) and appeared in several other soap operas and off-Broadway productions. She retired from acting in the mid-1970s to work as a writer and producer for NBC and CBS. At age 28, Rain was diagnosed with systemic lupus and has since dedicated efforts towards raising awareness about the disease.
