Born on November 6, 1989, in Stuttgart, Germany, she was originally named Jasmin Gassmann (also spelled Gaßmann). She began her artistic journey at a young age, moving to New York at 16 to study acting and directing at the New York Film Academy for two years, followed by a semester at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
Her professional breakthrough came in 2008 when she joined the cast of the popular German soap opera Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love) as Rebecca von Lahnstein, a role she held until 2011. In addition to her film and television work, which includes appearances in SOKO Stuttgart and Alarm für Cobra 11, she has increasingly focused on her career as a filmmaker. In recent years, she has frequently returned to using her birth name, Jasmin Gassmann, for her professional credits in directing and acting.
