She won the Volpi Cup award for Best Supporting Actress at the Venice Film Festival in 1995 for her role in 'Romanzo di un giovane povero'. Ferrari is best recognized as Commissioner Giovanna Scalise in the police drama series 'Distretto di Polizia' (2000-2001) aired on Canale 5.
