Hoda Taheri, born in 1992, is an Iranian filmmaker based in Berlin. She received her bachelor's degree in visual communication from Limkokwing University in Malaysia in 2016 and fled to Germany due to acting in controversial film projects in 2018. Since moving to Berlin in 2019, she has been studying as a Film Director at DFFB. Taheri's first short film, 'Mother Prays All Day Long' (2022), received a Special Mention at the Locarno Film Festival and was nominated for the German Short Film Award. Her second short film, 'As If Mother Cried That Night' (2023), premiered in Locarno. She is currently developing her debut feature film, 'I'll Plant My Hands in the Garden', with Boris Hadžija.
