Elizabeth Peña (1959-2014) was an American actress born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Estella Margarita Toirac and Cuban-born actor Mario Peña, who co-founded the Latin American Theatre Ensemble. Peña graduated from the High School of Performing Arts in 1977 alongside Ving Rhames and Esai Morales. She appeared in her first film, 'El Super', in 1979. Peña is known for her roles in 'La Bamba' (1987), 'Down and Out in Beverly Hills', 'Lone Star', 'Vibes', 'Rush Hour', and 'The Incredibles'. She also directed episodes of 'Resurrection Blvd.' and 'The Brothers Garcia'. Peña passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California on October 14, 2014, at the age of 55.
