Daria Mureeva, born Elena in Minsk, Belarus, was a university student with a complex relationship with her boyfriend Victor. After her father's arrest, she took over his illegal business, frequently crossing into the 'forbidden zone' of Chernobyl to conduct deals. Despite the dangers, she found herself drawn to the zone's beauty, yet increasingly felt contaminated by its destructive forces.
