Vollständige Biografie
Born in Sydney, Australia, on October 11, 1972, Claudia Black has established herself as a formidable presence in international television, particularly within the science fiction and fantasy genres. After early success in Australian productions like the soap opera A Country Practice and guest appearances on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, she achieved global stardom as Aeryn Sun in the cult classic series Farscape. Her commanding performance as the renegade Peacekeeper earned her multiple Saturn Award nominations and a win for Best Actress.
Black's career continued to soar as she joined the Stargate SG-1 franchise, portraying the charismatic thief-turned-hero Vala Mal Doran, a role that highlighted her sharp comedic timing and on-screen chemistry with co-star Ben Browder. Beyond live-action, she is a prolific voice actress, lending her distinctive, deep voice to iconic video game characters such as Morrigan in Dragon Age and Chloe Frazer in the Uncharted series.
In 2025, she took on a significant new challenge in the Starz series Spartacus: House of Ashur. Moving away from her typical "warrior" or "wildcard" roles, she portrays Cossutia, a powerful Roman aristocrat and the principal political rival to the series' titular character, Ashur. As a master of manipulation in the patriarchal society of Capua, her performance explores the complex layers of a mother fighting to secure her daughter’s future while navigating the deadly intrigues of the Roman elite.
