Angelique de Bruijne was born on March 15, 1973, in Terneuzen, Zeeland, Netherlands, as Angelique de Bruijne. Growing up in the coastal province of Zeeland, she eventually pursued a career in the performing arts, graduating from the Toneelschool in Maastricht in 1997. Her upbringing in Zeeland provided a natural connection to one of her most defining early roles in the critically acclaimed film Wilde mossels (Wild Mussels, 2000), which was set and filmed in her home province.
Throughout her career, de Bruijne has showcased her versatility across film, television, and voice acting. Beyond her breakout role as Janine in Wilde mossels, she appeared in notable Dutch productions such as the action-thriller Lek (2000) and the comedy De Zeemeerman (1996). In addition to her live-action work, she is a prominent figure in the Dutch dubbing industry; she is widely recognized as the voice of Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl in the Dutch versions of the Toy Story franchise.
