Geschichte
In the heart of an ancient forest, where the sunlight barely touches the mossy ground, lived a weaver named Elara. She was known across the valley for creating tapestries that seemed to shimmer with their own internal light. One morning, she discovered a silver thread tangled in the roots of an old oak tree, a material unlike any she had ever seen. As she began to weave it into her loom, the patterns started to shift and change on their own, depicting scenes of a city made of glass and stars.
The more she worked, the more the forest around her began to transform, adopting the crystalline beauty of her creation. Elara realized that her weaving was not just recording a story, but bringing a new world into existence. By the time the final knot was tied, the humble woods had become a sanctuary of light, bridging the gap between the earth and the heavens. She stepped out of her cottage, not into the forest she once knew, but into the radiant landscape she had dreamed of and brought to life with her own hands.
Zusammenfassung
In this modern short film (2025) directed by Zoé Arène, the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood is completely subverted through a lens of dark comedy and fantasy. Starring Epona Guillaume as the bold protagonist "Hoodie," the story follows her as she fearlessly asserts her own desires without a hint of shame.
The traditional narrative collapses as the characters refuse to play their expected parts: the Wolf is no longer a predator, and Grandmother is depicted as losing her mind. Despite the characters' laziness and rebellion against their roles, the Narrator attempts to maintain control and have the final word in this Belgian-French co-production. The 16-minute film has gained international recognition with selections at major events like the Hof International Film Festival and Bogoshorts.
