Leila George D'Onofrio is an Australian-American actress known primarily for her role as the younger Janine "Smurf" Cody in the TV series Animal Kingdom (2019-2022). Born in Sydney, Australia, to actors Vincent D'Onofrio and Greta Scacchi, she was raised in the United Kingdom and pursued acting studies at several institutions, including the Sydney Film School and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City.
Her notable film roles include starring in the science fantasy film Mortal Engines (2018) as Katherine Valentine and the Western The Kid (2019), which was directed by her father. More recently, she appeared in the Apple TV+ miniseries Disclaimer (2024), playing the younger version of Cate Blanchett's character. George was married to actor Sean Penn from July 2020 to April 2022 and has reportedly been in a relationship with her former Animal Kingdom co-star Ben Robson since 2023.
