"Hailing from Chicago, Drita pursued her undergraduate education at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating with a BFA in Theatre and a minor in Art History. Post-graduation, she returned to her hometown, subsequently earning an Art History Master's degree. During her tenure at the University of Illinois Chicago as a graduate teaching assistant, Drita collaborated with various theatre companies both domestically and internationally, including The Tank, New York Theatre Workshop, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, and The Region of Attica Interbalkan Festival of Ancient Drama. Her screen career commenced in 2015 with appearances in short films, followed by her dual role as writer and star in Lub Dub in 2016. Drita's feature film debut occurred in 2022 with Little Ukraine, coinciding with her work at the Kosovo Museum to digitize their collection for Google Cultural Institute. In 2023, she assumed the position of Citizen Diplomacy Fellow for the Republic of Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Earlier, Drita acquired proficiency in Albanian sign language, a skill that facilitated her breakthrough role as Ana in A Cup of Coffee and New Shoes On, marking her debut with nude scenes featuring bare breasts in three instances as the girlfriend of a deaf-mute carpenter struggling with a degenerative eye disease. Story
Agim and Gëzim, two deaf-mute identical twin brothers in their forties, live together with Ana, Gëzim's girlfriend. One night while driving, Agim experiences blurred vision leading to a near-accident. They visit an ophthalmologist who reveals that due to a genetic and rare disease, both brothers will progressively and irreversibly lose their sight.
