Alba Rohrwacher, an Italian actress, gained prominence for her role in 'Bella addormentata' (2012). She won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival in 2014 for her performance in 'Hungry Hearts'. Prior to this, she had received a David di Donatello Award for Best Actress in 2009 for her role in 'Giovanna's Father'.

Story

L'amica geniale begins with Elena Greco, an elderly woman living alone in her house filled with books, deciding to start writing about her life and that of her friend Lila.
