Svetlana Khodchenkova, born Svetlana Viktorovna Khodchenkova on January 21, 1983, in Moscow, Russia, was raised by her mother in Zheleznodorozhny. She initially dreamed of becoming a doctor but began a fashion modeling career at age 15. After studying economics briefly, she attended the Shchukin Theatrical School from 2001 to 2005, graduating as an actress. During her studies, she appeared in films by Stanislav Govorukhin and Viktor Merezhko, and TV series. In 2008, she won a best actress award at Gdynya Polish Film Festival for 'Mala Moskwa'. Notable roles include 'Bless the Woman' (2003) and 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' (2011), for which she received COFCA Award in 2012. She married actor Vladimir Yaglych on December 13, 2005, but they later divorced. Khodchenkova has also appeared in stage productions like 'Moulin Rouge Hospital' and 'Theatre with and without rules'. Outside acting, she enjoys horseback riding and alpine skiing.
