Story

The movie 'Le bonheur' follows François (Jean-Claude Drouot), a man living in a small village near Lyon with his wife Thérèse (Marie-France Pisier) and their two children. The film opens with François leaving for work each morning, kissing his sleeping family goodbye. One day, he meets Madeleine (Bleu Emeraude), a woman who sells paintbrushes door-to-door. They begin an affair, which François keeps secret from his family. Meanwhile, Thérèse discovers she is pregnant again. Eventually, Thérèse finds out about the affair and confronts François.
