Amy Schumer was born and raised on Long Island, New York, graduating from South Side High School in 1999 as both 'Class Clown' and 'Teacher's Worst Nightmare'. She earned a degree in theater at Towson University in 2003. After moving to New York City post-graduation, she studied acting at the William Esper Studio for two years while working odd jobs. Schumer is related to U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer through her father. She began her comedy career on June 1, 2004, performing at Gotham Comedy Club and eventually appearing on 'Last Comic Standing' in 2007, where she placed fourth.
