Story

Marina, a 23-year-old woman living in a prototype factory town by the sea with her architect father, finds humans strange and repellent, preferring to observe them through documentaries and music. Her only friend is Bella. When a stranger challenges Marina to a foosball duel on her own table, she begins to engage more with people. Meanwhile, her father ritually prepares for his exit from the 20th century, which he considers overrated.

Summary

Attenberg is a 2010 Greek film directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari. It follows Marina, a young woman navigating life in an unusual town while keeping her distance from humans. The film explores themes of familial dysfunction, sexual inexperience, and estrangement, with a deadpan, off-kilter tone. Additionally, it serves as a commentary on modern Greece.
