Natasha Richardson (1963-2009) was an English actress known for her roles on stage and screen. Born into the prominent Redgrave acting family, she was the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson. Richardson began her career playing Mary Shelley and Patty Hearst in films before earning critical acclaim for her Broadway debut in 'Anna Christie'. She won multiple awards for her role as Sally Bowles in the 1998 revival of 'Cabaret'. Notable films include 'Patty Hearst', 'The Handmaid's Tale', 'Nell', 'The Parent Trap', and 'Maid in Manhattan'. Richardson was married to Liam Neeson from 1994 until her death, with whom she had two sons. She died in 2009 following a head injury sustained during a skiing accident.

Geschichte
In a dystopian future formerly known as the United States, Kate, a fertile woman, is sentenced to become a Handmaid due to her attempt to escape. Her new role is to bear children for influential men whose wives are infertile due to pollution. After rigorous training by 'Aunt' Lydia, Kate is assigned to the Commander. Meanwhile, she develops feelings for Nick, the Commander's chauffeur. As Kate navigates her new life and relationship with Nick, a resistance movement against the regime begins.
