Brigitte Bardot, born on September 28, 1934, started her acting career in France at age 17 with 'Manina, la fille sans voiles' (1952). She gained international fame and became a cultural icon following her role in Roger Vadim's 'And God Created Woman' (1956). Bardot acted in around 47 films, retired from the industry in 1973, and was awarded the Légion d'honneur in 1985. Post-retirement, she dedicated herself to animal rights activism.

Story

Upon leaving the convent, Ursula goes to live with her uncle, Count Ribera, and aunt Florentine. Upon arrival, she learns of a local scandal involving Lambert, a young man from the village who blames the count for his sister's suicide after he supposedly assaulted her. The two men engage in a duel, during which Lambert is severely wounded but the count's honor is preserved. Ursula nurses Lambert back to health and develops feelings for him, only to discover that he is secretly her aunt's lover. When the count finds out about their affair, another duel ensues, this time resulting in the count's death at Lambert's hands. Ursula helps Lambert escape, but Florentine, consumed by jealousy and hatred towards her niece, alerts the police.
