In Kenya during the early 1940s, a millionaire past his prime and his young wife join a group of wealthy British expatriates living a decadent lifestyle filled with parties, drugs, and extramarital affairs. The wife begins an affair with one of the other men, and her husband eventually finds out about it. Instead of causing a scene, they decide to separate amicably. However, their plan goes awry when the man with whom the wife had the affair is murdered. All evidence points towards the husband, who must now prove his innocence.
White Mischief is a 1987 film directed by Michael Radford, set against the backdrop of Kenya in the early 1940s as World War II begins. The movie is based on the novel 'Death in Kenya' by James Fox and follows a group of affluent British expatriates engaged in hedonistic behavior. The story revolves around a married couple whose extramarital affairs lead to tragic consequences, blurring the lines between desire, deceit, and danger.
