Fatou N'Diaye, born in 1980 in Saint-Louis du Sénégal, moved to Paris with her mother at the age of eight. She was discovered by Oliviero Toscani, leading to modelling assignments. N'Diaye learned Guinea-Bissau Creole for her leading role as Vita in the 2002 film 'Nha Fala'.
