Full Biography

Susan Blakely, born in Berkeley, California, started her acting career in Hollywood during the early 1970s. She began with supporting roles in films like 'Savages', 'The Way We Were', and 'The Lords of Flatbush'. Her breakthrough came in 1974 when she played Patty Simmons in 'The Towering Inferno'. In 1975, she had leading roles in 'Report to the Commissioner' with Michael Moriarty, and 'Capone' opposite Ben Gazzara. Blakely gained critical acclaim for her lead role as Gretchen Woodworth in the miniseries 'Rich Man, Poor Man', winning a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama (1976). She continued acting in various films and TV shows throughout her career.
