Alison McGirr, born to Irish parents, spent her childhood between Sydney and Ireland. She studied Fine Arts Acting at QUT in Brisbane, graduating with the Jennifer Blocksidge Award for 'Most Outstanding Actor'. McGirr debuted on Australian soap opera 'Home and Away' (1988), later appearing in 'Penny Dreadful' (2014).
