Daughter of Fernanda Montenegro and Fernando Torres, she won the Best Actress Award at Cannes Festival for 'Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar' at age 20. Married to director Andrucha Waddington, they have two sons together. She wrote her first script in 2003 ('O Redentor'). In 2025, she was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe for 'I'm Still Here (Ainda Estou Aqui)'.
