In an unspecified time and place, an Emperor must take a new wife if his Empress does not bear him an heir within seven years of marriage. On their sixth anniversary celebration ball, the Emperor (Max Beesley) and his loyal Chamberlain (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) initiate a secret operation to find a suitable virgin candidate for the new Empress. A young woman named Sabah (Leticia Dolera) is secretly brought into an isolated wing in the Imperial Palace where she's tutored by Masters and constantly surveilled by the Emperor and Chamberlain. Meanwhile, the current Empress faces pressure to conceive or risk everyone involved in this secret endeavor being executed.
The film 'Emperor's Wife' (2003) directed by Julien Vrebos is a drama set at an undisclosed location and time, where ancient laws dictate the Emperor must take a new wife if his Empress does not bear him an heir within seven years. The story revolves around this law and the secret operation orchestrated by the Emperor and his Chamberlain to find a suitable replacement candidate for the Empress. The plot explores power dynamics, tension between the Empress's position and the potential new Empress, and the consequences of not fulfilling the ancient law.
