Chloe Pirrie, born on August 25, 1987 in Stockbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland, began her acting career after being cast in a school production of The Cherry Orchard. She moved to London at 18 to attend Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2009. Pirrie's professional debut was at the Royal National Theatre in Men Should Weep (2010). She gained recognition for her role as Shell in the film 'Shell' (2012), earning awards for Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards and a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the BFI London Film Festival Awards. Pirrie has since appeared in various TV shows and films, including The Game (2014), An Inspector Calls (2015), War & Peace (2016), The Crown (2017-2018), and Troy: Fall of a City (2018).

Story
Shell, abandoned by her mother as a child, lives with her terminally ill father Pete in a remote Scottish Highland gas station. Her daily routine involves running the station and caring for her father. She spends afternoons with a local mechanic but feels trapped in their desolate surroundings.
