Amina Annabi, born to a Tunisian father and French mother in a musical family, was exposed to various music styles from an early age. Her grandmother was a musician, and she attended concerts by notable artists such as Joan Baez and Warda at the Tabarka Festival. She moved to Paris with her mother in 1975, forming her own group three years later. In 1982, Amina began her solo career, winning a music contest with her rap song 'Shehérazade'. She became involved with Radio Nova and started performing in Paris.
