Kathleen Turner, born Mary Kathleen Turner on June 19, 1954, is an American actress known for her significant roles in film and theater. She gained fame during the 1980s with notable performances in movies like 'Body Heat' (1981), 'The Man with Two Brains' (1983), and 'Romancing the Stone' (1984). Turner won two Golden Globe Awards for her roles in 'Prizzi's Honor' (1985) and 'Romancing the Stone,' and was nominated for an Academy Award for 'Peggy Sue Got Married' (1986). Story
Jim Malden (Rutger Hauer), a Vietnam veteran living as a recluse on an island in North Carolina, has formed a close bond with his neighbors Stella Clayton (Kathleen Turner) and her son Adam. The island is home to a pair of rare bald eagles, which Jim protects as part of his conservation efforts. A world-class mountain climber named Mike Walker (Powers Boothe) arrives on the island, claiming to want to observe the eagles but secretly hired by an egg collector to steal their eggs. Despite his initial reservations about Mike's true intentions, Jim grows fond of him and introduces him to Stella.
