In 'The Imperialists Are Still Alive!', Asya, a Middle Eastern conceptual artist living in Manhattan, finds herself torn between her political activism and her relationship with Javier, a Mexican man she meets at nightclubs. As Israel shells Beirut where her brother resides, Asya fears arrest for her pro-Palestinian sympathies. Her friend's fiancé goes missing, suspected of rendition, adding to the tense atmosphere. Meanwhile, Asya navigates her complicated feelings for Javier amidst warnings from others about her associations.
