The creative team holds auditions for the lead role of Marilyn, attracting talented performers like Karen Cartwright and Ivy Lynn, both of whom embody different aspects of Marilyn's persona. As rehearsals commence, tensions rise among the cast and crew, with rivalries forming between Karen and Ivy, as well as within the writing team of Tom and Julia. Meanwhile, director Derek Wills navigates his own personal struggles while trying to maintain control over the production.
