Story
A renowned conductor, Erik Ericsson (Michael Nyqvist), abruptly leaves his successful international career to return to his rural Swedish hometown of Houset. He agrees to listen to the local church choir and subsequently becomes its new conductor. Under Eriksson's guidance, the choir begins to improve significantly, drawing both admiration from some villagers and resentment from others.
