Story
The Marquis de Sade (Geoffrey Rush), an infamous writer of erotic literature, is imprisoned at Charenton Insane Asylum due to his unmentionable activities. Despite his confinement, he continues to write his scandalous stories using quills smuggled in by his lover, Madeline (Kate Winslet), a laundry maid at the asylum.
