Story

Monster tells the story of Aileen Wuornos (played by Charlize Theron), an emotionally scarred highway drifter who works as a prostitute to survive. While hitching rides along interstate highways, she encounters violent and abusive clients. After being raped by one such client, Aileen kills him in self-defense and starts taking money and cars from other clients. She forms a relationship with Selby Wall (Christina Ricci), who helps her try to find legitimate work but struggles due to her limited education and social skills. As Aileen continues killing clients, she becomes America's first female serial killer.
