Geschichte
In a small village, Mert, a young boy, is about to undergo a traditional circumcision ritual, but his family lacks the funds for the celebratory feast that follows. To afford a lamb for the meal, Mert's older sister plays a cruel joke on him, suggesting their father might sacrifice Mert instead if they can't buy one. Meanwhile, Mert's mother, Medine, is determined to provide for the feast despite their poverty. She puts her family to work gathering branches to earn money towards purchasing a sheep.
