Story

Nic and Jules are two mothers who have raised their kids, Laser and Pfeiffer, together through artificial insemination. When Laser turns 18, he contacts the sperm donor, Paul, wanting to meet him. Pfeiffer joins in on this secret after seeing Paul's photo. Paul, a free-spirited musician, starts spending more time with the family, causing tension as Nic becomes jealous of his influence over Jules and their children. Meanwhile, Laser and Pfeiffer grow closer to Paul, much to Nic's disapproval. The situation comes to a head at a tense dinner where Paul makes it clear he wants to be part of the kids' lives. This leads to an argument between Nic and Paul, causing Paul to leave. In the end, Nic apologizes for her behavior, and the family accepts that Paul will be a part of their lives.
