Genuine Risk follows Joe 'Dude' Cabot (Peter Berg), an unlucky horseplayer who finds himself in dire financial straits due to his gambling debts. Desperate for money, he agrees to work as a collector for his friend's cold and vicious mobster boss, Harry Moffett (Terence Stamp). The job seems simple enough: retrieve debt payments from those who owe Moffett money.
