In 'Diabolique', the wife and mistress of a cruel school master conspire to murder him due to his abusive behavior. They execute their plan by poisoning his drink at a restaurant. The body is strategically dumped, but it disappears soon after. This unexpected turn leads to psychological tension for both women when a retired police investigator starts questioning them about the husband's disappearance.
