Story

In 'The Color of Money', former pool hustler 'Fast Eddie' Felson (Paul Newman) comes out of retirement and takes young Vincent Lauria (Tom Cruise) under his wing to teach him the ropes of the game and make some money together. They travel across the country, playing in pool halls and honing their skills. Initially, the partnership works well, but tensions rise as Eddie grows frustrated with Vincent's flashy playing style, which attracts unwanted attention and scares off potential marks. This leads to a falling-out between the two. Eventually, they cross paths again as rivals on the pool hustling circuit.

Summary

'The Color of Money' is a 1986 drama film directed by Martin Scorsese, based on Walter Tevis's novel of the same name (though it follows more closely the original sequel, 'Shoot Out'). The movie centers around the world of professional pool hustling and explores themes of mentorship, rivalry, and the price of success. Paul Newman reprised his role as 'Fast Eddie' Felson from the 1961 film 'The Hustler', with Tom Cruise playing Vincent Lauria, a young prodigy taken under Eddie's wing. The film is known for its tense, dramatic scenes set in pool halls and its exploration of the complex dynamics between Eddie and Vincent.
