Film archivist David begins suspecting his wife Alice of having an affair with one of her clients, Alex. His stress grows when he discovers through footage from work that a brutal murder took place in their house in 1902. David starts experiencing disturbing visions and believes a supernatural presence is haunting him. He follows Alice to a canal where he confirms her infidelity but also finds evidence supporting his belief in the spectral entity. When Alice goes missing, David becomes the primary suspect in her disappearance.
