Bank manager Frank Berndssen, around 40 years old and based in Berlin, is eager to finalize a deal for his Swiss investor group to takeover the French meat production chain of Charcuteries Albert. His careful planning is disrupted at Berlin-Tegel Airport when he encounters Patrizia Munz, a chaotic author in her early thirties trying desperately to board an overbooked flight to Paris. Patrizia has just received news that her lover, Jean-Jacques Secretin, lies in a coma following a car accident. Frank loans Patrizia the money for an upgraded ticket, and they reluctantly share the flight.
